Ya'll know I'm all about wearing First Lady jackets, as I like to call them. Generally made of tweed or boucle, they lend a certain air of sophistication to any outfit you pair them with. I never would've thought to wear one with an edgier item like a criss cross black top, but the inspiration outfit was just too intriguing to pass up. My jacket is ivory and the skirt is slightly more white which I know could be a deterrent for some. It doesn't bother me too much though, and the overall feel of the outfit is similar. This jacket was a part of my favorite outfit from last winter, and I'm glad for another way to wear it this year!

Yellow is really quite clever in the winter, isn't it? According to colorpsychology.org, yellow is the brightest color of the visible spectrum, and it "means happiness and optimism; it is the color of sun shining, or bright light and creativity." To me, yellow has always felt like it perks your mood right up, and who wouldn't want to bring a little bit of sunshine to winter?! I recently styled this yellow coat with a black turtleneck and floral pencil skirt, but my inspiration has the right idea pairing it with comfy sneakers and jeans. I will certainly be using this recreation of her outfit the next time the weather calls for it.

Here's one last vacation outfit before we wrap up the week! Since I'm only packing a few shoes and purses for our trip to Europe this spring, I may switch up the accessories, but the top and pants are strong contenders for my pared-down suitcase. I am mostly focused on bringing things I already own, but a pair of cropped tie waist pants felt like both the perfect addition to my closet and my suitcase on this trip. They are lighter than jeans but heavier than shorts - the perfect hybrid that makes them work for a wide range of weather. And I love the way a tie waist looks. I shared more tie waist pants on a budget, below!
