Book Cover Reveal and Pre-Order!
Someone pinch me - is this real?! How did the past year go by so fast?! Because approximately 55 weeks ago a publisher got in touch and suggested I write a book on the topic of fashion and faith, a topic that both meant the world to me but also felt incredibly scary and off-limits. I hesitated at first and then jumped in with both feet, spending days on end at my computer in pajamas: writing, praying, researching, and interviewing women and listening to their stories. I laughed, I cried, I learned a ton, and I healed many old wounds on this important topic. Important because the longing to decorate ourselves and our surroundings and our deepest questions about beauty are a precious part of a woman's soul, and yet these topics often feel off-limits within the context of our faith, personal values, and/or global responsibility. I'm busting the doors open on these topics! I can't wait to share this book with you!
J's Everyday Fashion and Faith: Personal Style with Purpose (Waterfall Press) is available for pre-order on Amazon now! And the official launch date is October 3, 2017 (aka, when you'll be able to read it).
How can you support this project? Thanks so much for asking!! (wink wink)
1. Preorder a copy so that you can be one of the first to read it and leave an Amazon review! One of the easiest but most impactful ways you can help.
2. Organize a book club with the book! We will be providing exclusive resources to anyone who organizes a group within the first few months – including free study guides and the opportunity for a group Skype session with me. Simply sign up for our new email list that is for book announcements only. If you sign up now, you will receive the study guide as soon as it becomes available. We don't plan to send more than a handful of book-specific emails over the next year, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
3. Plan an event or book signing in your hometown! Or simply tell us what church or organization you think would be a good fit for an in-person book event and we will take it from there. Email us your ideas at j@jseverydayfashion.com.
4. Join our Facebook group! Some book announcements will be posted there, but this community is really for anyone interested in going deeper on the topic of fashion and faith in a semi-private setting. I've posted a handful of things already so you can get a feel for what kind of content I will be sharing, and of course you are welcome to start your own discussions or pose questions as well.
I cannot wait to see the beautiful stories and dialogue that comes from this project! If you are interested in exploring the topic of fashion and faith, I hope you'll join me in one or more ways listed above.
[Tomorrow we will be back to outfit posts as usual!]
Head to Amazon to learn more and pre-order.
