Today's Everyday Fashion (failure!)

I looooove Blake Lively's outfit (left), but my attempt to re-create came up a little... bell-bottomed. :-) The fit of my pants is all wrong for this look but if I find some high-waisted peach trousers at least I have the rest of the outfit ready to go!

Now tell me: would you wear Blake Lively's pink look?

Tim Gunn at the Mall at Millenia

Stop by the Mall at Millenia tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, October 23) for your chance to meet Tim Gunn! At 1:00pm enjoy a Lucky Jeans fashion show and at 1:30pm you'll have a chance to meet Tim. Spend $100 at the Lucky Jeans store and you'll also get a free copy of his new book (photo above).

Speaking of the Mall at Millenia... you may remember the fashion show I attended there a few weeks ago. See below for professional photos - and click here to read my recap and see my video interview with Giuliana Rancic!

The Western vibe of the J.Crew photo (left) was my inspiration for pulling out my cowboy boots. I'm not usually a fan of flat boots on my big feet, but this outfit is soooo comfy and I love the mix of neutrals!

Change up your winter coat!

Two simple changes and my favorite winter coat looks completely different! Here's how I did it:

1.  Removed the self-tie belt and added a brown leather belt.
2. Attached a faux fur collar using large safety pins.

Coat: Banana Republic, $130 (on sale, two winters ago)
Faux fur collar: H&M, $15 (recent)
Belt: American Eagle/Filene's Basement, $5
Jeans: Hudson/Filene's Basement, $70
Shoes: Restricted/Endless.com, $38

Velvet was all over the runways (and the J.Crew catalog), so I decided to bust out this jacket I've had for more than 5 years. The shirt/necklace combo is also old, but when you mix it with some jeggings and updated shoes - you have something that's new all over again!

So tell me: will you be wearing velvet this fall/winter? Or is it a trend you can do without?

Occasion: Work or fun
Velvet jacket: H&M
Shirt: Express
Necklace: Kansas boutique
Jeggings: Gap, $35
Boots (left): Aldo, $70
Shoes (right): Banana Republic, $50
