Today's Everyday Fashion: Giving Gala

I wore this last night to SoftRock's Giving Gala. Part holiday party, part charity fundraiser, everyone in attendance was required to sign a pledge to donate at least one community service hour per month in 2014. The result was more than 12,000 community service hours pledged and one really fun night! My outfit is from a NYE brainstorming session. I had several friends come over and borrow outfits for NYE and my friend Danielle wore this to ring in the new year. The Nordstrom top is new and I was inspired to go outside my comfort zone and order it. The website shows it with a black bra underneath (hence my initial hesitation), but I can always wear a cami underneath if this version is showing too much skin. For this occasion I went with something in between - a makeshift black bandeau. Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone with fashion? What was the result?
