At what point is a clothing item considered "vintage"? Because I think this navy coat is getting close! When I bought it, my budget was tiny. So I got an inexpensive jacket from Forever 21, and replaced the plain plastic buttons with decorative metal buttons from a fabric store, and sewed them on myself. It's such a classic coat and it's my own little custom piece, so I can't fathom ever getting rid of it. It was the perfect topper to recreate this catalog photo and to complete the outfit!
