Today's Everyday Fashion: Big Sable Lighthouse

There's something so romantic about the idea of a lighthouse, poised on the coast, guiding wayfaring sailors home. Not to mention, the nautical colors make a stunning backdrop for a photo shoot! Lucky for us, my BFF from 4th grade got married recently and at the wedding her aunt invited us to visit possibly the prettiest lighthouse of all time - Big Sable in Ludington, Michigan. Originally built in 1867, and one of the tallest light houses in the state at over 100 feet, anyone can visit and browse the gift shop, enjoy the beach or pay a small fee to climb to the top. It's a 2-mile hike from the parking lot, or buses run on Saturdays in the summer. We were given a ride from a park official, which meant I could comfortably don this gorgeous gingham dress with a huge full skirt, and espadrille wedges. With such a gorgeous jewel waiting at the end of the path, I can confidently say that a trip to Ludington to see Big Sable is worth it!
