"There's no place like home" is a sentiment originally expressed about the state of Kansas (by Dorothy, in The Wizard of Oz) and I can't argue one bit. I swear my home state only gets more beautiful every time I visit! One look at Grinter's Sunflower Farms in Lawrence, Kansas on the outskirts of my alma matter, KU, and you'll see what I mean. I eagerly hopped out of the car to surround myself with these beautiful blooms that hold so much meaning (they are the state flower and the state nickname), and wrap a blanket scarf around me and the hubs for some romantic pictures (Grinter is a popular site for engagement and family photos). It's only a slice of the wonderful things Kansas has to offer, but I hope you enjoyed this small tribute to my home state!
