Today's Everyday Fashion: Do What Scares You
/The inspiration for today's outfit is... a style seminar I did in Destin a few weeks ago!! (That's one of the models, Evgeniya, backstage during fittings!) Throughout the years I've been asked to "style" runway shows or people for events and I've always turned those gigs down (passed them along to bloggers/stylists I knew would do a great job!) because I didn't feel it was really my thing. The Destin style seminar was my first time "styling," and I agreed to it because I was confident in the program on its own (I usually do it without models), so adding some outfits would be no sweat. To my surprise, I loved (!) going to all the stores, picking out a bunch of items, and making them into outfits. So much so that I wound up putting together 25 looks for the seminar, and wanted to take all of them home for myself! This plaid shirt dress was one of my favorites, so I ordered it online. It's super soft flannel and the length is perfect (is it just me or are shirt dresses always super short?!). Moral of the story: do what challenges you and/or scares you a little. It was a great experience, and I even got a new dress out of it!
