Today's Everyday Fashion: Warm Holiday Outfit

I am so grateful for a recent Instagram conversation that lead to the idea for today’s look! It was a question about how to stay warm when you’re dressed up in the winter. You can throw a coat over your outfit to travel to the event, but what do you wear during the event? I suggested a faux fur vest! They are SO warm and cozy, but don’t detract from the dressiness of your look. This is my third year styling this stripe top for the holidays, and my favorite thus far. Check out the other two below!

Today's Everyday Fashion: Pineapple Print

I'm dreaming of summer weather in today's cutie patootie pineapple print. It's my favorite season to dress for, and it can't get here soon enough! I love that "throwing something on" in the summer means little breezy dresses like this one. I'd wear it for errands or lunch in the top photos, and for the beach in the last photo with hat, green bag and flip flops. I rounded up even more fruity options on a budget, below!

Today's Everyday Fashion: Crop Tops Are [Blank]

Lemons, gingham, and little bows on the shoes?! Gah. I'm dying over this print mix. That's how I wound up in this outfit, because crop tops are not always my first choice. I tend to avoid clothing that spurs thoughts like: Am I spilling over in this? Has it migrated and is now showing something I don't want it to be showing? I loooove the look of a high waist short with crop top for summer because it's such a retro throwback. But if I'm being honest, it's not always the most comfy silhouette to wear. What's your take on crop tops and high waists?

Top: Forever 21, $10
Shorts: Ann Taylor, $28 (similar below)
Shoes: Forever 21, $28

Today's Everyday Fashion: This $15 Shirt Is Too Good

I mean... bright blue gingham with ruffle sleeves?! I'm sold. Except, when I ordered it I wondered  "how great can it be for only $15?" (it was an easy return if it didn't work). But it's SO good in person. It didn't need to be ironed right out of the package, the fabric is that nice and thick. And it's work-friendly! It would go great with some dressy chinos, or with shorts for a picnic. In my humble opinion... it's too good!

Oh how I love Nordstrom – let me count the ways: free shipping both directions, a wide selection including exclusive brands and extended sizes, a loyalty program, and stellar customer service (buy online and pick up in-store, alterations and tailoring, styling services). When asked what retailer I trust the most, Nordstrom would definitely top the list. Especially as I get older, I want quality brands that will last, and Nordstrom has become a place I shop more and more frequently!

The jeans and blush shoes in today’s post are my own Nordstrom finds from last year (still in stock). And then I selected a few more items to try from their website for a wide variety of occasions – work, date night, and casual weekend. My favorite find is the floral maxi. I can’t wait to wear it for date night with the hubs, and for an upcoming shower. But all of it’s super cute for different reasons!

Nordstrom is truly a one-stop, hi-low destination for all occasions. Is Nordstrom a top retailer for you, too?

Today's Everyday Fashion: The Pink Suit

Inspiration: Tibi

Seriously, where was this pink suit when I needed it?! When I worked in an office, I would've jumped at a traditional suit in such a fun color. Nowadays, while I do still need professional clothes from time to time, I'm on the fence about whether I would wear it enough. (Probably more likely to repeat outfits such as this, this or this?) I'm definitely a fan of all the colorful suits retailers are offering now (see below) and think they are great for the office. Would you ever wear a colorful suit?
