Today's Everyday Fashion: A Night at Disney

The whole fam headed to Disney to celebrate my niece's birthday last night. It is c-c-cold right now in Florida, so I tried to find an outfit that was warm, functional but still cute! I've worn similar belted-cardigan looks before, but I wanted to give my new gold glitter belt and Designs by Mandi bracelet try - both put me in a holiday mood. :-)

Cardigan: New York & Company, $22
Belt: New York & Company, $10
Shirt: Banana Republic, $35
Jeans: Gap, $44
Booties: Forever 21, $33
Coat (right): Banana Republic, $150

Left bracelet: c/o Designs by Mandi, $17
Right bracelet: Banana Republic, $15

Today's Everyday Fashion: Fail/Pass

Photo left: My inspiration from J.Crew.com
Middle photo: FAIL. My first attempt at this look. The sweater is too long to pair with this skirt and jacket, so the whole look is making me look short. And a bit sloppy.
Right photo: PASS. I tucked in the sweater and moved the belt down. A figure-flattering version of my inspiration photo!

Occasion: Work
Jacket: Banana Republic, $90
Cardigan: Banana Republic, $14
Shirt: Banana Republic, $15
Belt: c/o Banana Republic Florida Mall
Skirt: Banana Republic, $40
Booties: Forever 21, $33
Earrings: Urban Outfitters, $5

Today's Everyday Fashion: J.Crew Love

Oh J.Crew, be still my heart. They really do put out such amazing catalogs. So much so, that I have more than 200 of their inspiring photos (2 photo albums) uploaded to Facebook. (You can check it out here!) In today's look, I am loving the hooded sweater layered over a collared shirt with a belt. Professional and fun at the same time! What are your favorite places for inspiration?

Occasion: Work
Sweater: Limited (old)
Shirt: Limited (old)
Skirt: J.Crew, $45
Belt: American Eagle/Filene's Basement, $5
Boots: Aldo, $75

Today's Everyday Fashion: The Yellow Shoes

Okay, so this outfit is a very loose interpretation of my inspiration photo (from J.Crew, left). Her look is work, mine is weekend - but I used the same color palette, which I am seriously loving (periwinkle, olive, khaki and yellow). Here is my conundrum though - I recently picked up these yellow heels from TJ Maxx for $25 (used my gift card). I can't decide if I really, really love or totally and completely hate them (trust me, it's a complicated world in my head).

What's your take - should I keep the yellow shoes?

Shoes: TJ Maxx/Bandolino, $25 (can't decide if I love or hate!)

Today's Everyday Fashion: The Ugly Christmas Sweater

I attended an "Ugly Christmas Sweater" party on Thursday night and this is what I wore! It was a last-minute thing and I didn't have time to make something. I was going to wear "regular" clothes and then... I spotted this sweater in my closet. I've had forever (about 5 years), it's not really Christmas-y (it's orange), and it's not even that ugly (it's a cashmere blend and it's beaded), BUT I think it fit the bill for the party!

I would love to see your Christmas sweaters. Feel free to post pictures of your holiday gear on my Facebook page! :-)

Today's Everyday Fashion: Brazilian Moda

Today's Everyday Fashion is brought to you by Brazilian Moda. I recently teamed up with them to create 3 examples of how you can easily transition your workout clothes into a cute outfit for running errands. Check out their site, and receive 15% off your purchase with code JFASHIONBLOG!

Which look is your favorite?

LOOK 1
Extra long top with unique back, $58
Supplex basic capri, $56
How I did it: This look is perfect for days when you didn't sweat a lot and are running out the door. Just throw on a hooded sweater over your shirt (way cuter than a hooded sweatshirt) and switch out your gym shoes for some fuzzy boots. You instantly look comfy chic!

LOOK 2
Supplex Long Tank with criss-cross back, $46
Supplex basic capri, $56
How I did it: After a super-sweaty workout, I always recommend removing your shirt to prevent breakouts. But don't just throw on a ratty old t-shirt. Step up your game by wearing an inexpensive graphic t-shirt from Forever 21 or Gap. Throw on an army jacket for more coverage, and boots to brave the snow!

LOOK 3
Supplex Long Top cut on the sides, $48
Supplex Pants with belt loop and pockets, $85
Touch Light Second Skin Tank, $29 (on sale)
Mesh Sleeveless Vest with Hoodie, $60
How I did it:  I changed out of my sweaty shirt and into a printed top from Brazilian Moda. This top is the perfect cross between workout clothes (so you don't mind if it gets sweaty) and streetwear (looks cute enough for errands). I also threw on a vest from Brazilian Moda (second picture), and snow boots and a puffer jacket (third picture).

Check out my video below to see how I transition into this look in just over a minute!

Disclaimer: clothes that are from Brazilian Moda are listed below each picture, and do not belong to me. I chose a couple items to keep for future use, and any items not listed are my regular 'ole clothes. See my disclosure policy for more info.

What to Wear for Every Holiday Occasion

1. Shopping
What's one activity you're likely to do a lot during the holidays? Shopping! You definitely want to be comfortable, but that's no reason to leave style at home. Thrown on a unique graphic tee or layer on a colorful sweater and get ready to shop till you drop.

Today's Everyday Fashion: Green and Cobalt Blue

Last week I paired "marigold and neutrals," inspired by an article from Refinery29.com on unique color combinations. This week - it's green and cobalt blue! I personally love this combo, but what do you think? Would you wear this color combo?

I also can't go without mentioning that I'm wearing tights in this picture. I've had a real hate-hate relationship with tights for the past few years, but because I love you guys so much, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and give them another try. *sigh* And you know what - I hate to admit it, but they were actually comfortable and they look cute!! Who knew?

Occasion: Work

Shirt: H&M, $20
Skirt: Express
Tights: Hue/TJ Maxx, $6 for 2 pairs

Boots: Cynthia Rowley/TJ Maxx, $85

Today's Everyday Fashion: Trendy at Work

I love outfits like this for work. The skinny pants and accessories are trendy, but the blazer keeps it professional and shows that you mean business! How do you dress at work - would this look be too dressy, not professional enough, or just right?

Today's Everyday Fashion: The Brocade Skirt

I love my brocade skirt so much, I decided to find a way to wear it in cold weather! I paired it with a a cozy turtleneck and some warm boots - mixing feminine and masculine styles in the process.  What warm weather item do you like to mix in with your winter clothes?

My Christmas Wish List

I absolutely love reading what other people want for Christmas, so I thought I'd put together my wish list and share it with you guys!

1. Miss Dior Cherie perfume. I've worn Chanel Mademoiselle since high school, but would love another option for daytime.
2. Michael Kors watch. (style #MK5055, $175 from eWatches.com)
3. Bracelets to wear with my watch. ($35 and $30 from Banana Republic)
4. Banana and Gap gift cards to use on my favorite shopping day of the year - the day after Christmas!!
5. iPod shuffle. My iPod is on its last leg and this one is perfect for the gym. ($49 from Apple)
6. One of my favorite moves of all time - Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. ($12 from Amazon.com)

What's on your wish list?

Today's Everyday Fashion: The Leopard Belt

This, ladies, is why I love belts so much. Amazing how such a small print can make such a big impact! And the belt actually cinches in the blazer and creates a new shape. Have you ever worn a belted blazer?

Today's Everyday Fashion: Oldie but a Goodie

I overslept this morning and in a rush to get out the door I threw on one of my favorite outfits - an oldie but a goodie. I used to wear this outfit a lot when I lived in Boston. This sweater is deceivingly warm - it might not have sleeves but it's super-thick and is like its own little furnace! (turned out to be a little to hot for today's weather even)

What outfit do you turn to in a pinch?

Occasion: Church and Christmas shopping

Today's Everyday Fashion: The Rocker Tee

I'd like to introduce you to one of my favorite shopping/errands outfits. I love the unique shape of this rocker tee I picked up at Forever 21 a couple months ago. The epitome of stylish and comfy at the same time!

Today's Everyday Fashion: Tweed Trousers

Don't you love it when you hold onto something and it winds up coming in handy? I bought these tweed trousers more than 5 years ago, and I immediately got them out of "storage" (our guest room) when I saw this picture of Charlize Theron on FabSugar.com. Her pants are a bit more modern with a skinny leg and some pleating, but I decided to re-create the look with a navy silk shirt and black boyfriend blazer. Work appropriate and comfy, I love!

Occasion: Work
Black blazer: Express
Blue silk shirt: Banana Republic, $50
Pants: American Eagle
Earrings: Urban Outfitters, $5

I'm wearing a size S, but  couldn't quite zip it up all the way so I would definitely need to size up. The dress also has pockets, which I love. :-)

Which one is your favorite?

Today's Everyday Fashion: Marigold and Neutrals

Refinery29.com recently posted an article on "unique color combinations" and I'm making it my mission to try all of them! This is the first one - marigolds and neutrals - and I think it came out great. I never would have thought of this particular outfit without the inspiration photos!
