35 Work Outfit Ideas: Favorites So Far This Year

(Note: most of the items in these posts are way older than 2018, so qualifying them as favorites for this year is based solely on when I posted to the blog.)

Real talk: has the definition of "work" clothes dramatically changed, or is it just me? When I look at my office style 8 years ago, it was mostly pencil skirts and cardigans. Now, my work style is:

  • Big skirts.
  • Pants.
  • Ladylike dresses.
  • High-waists with a tie.

Is that just part of getting older and wanting to wear different silhouettes?

Or am I bored with the old way I used to define "work" and want to think outside the box?

Or did trends change? Silhouettes certainly have "flipped" in the last couple years. Now instead of skinny jeans with a longer top, smaller tops tucked into high-rise and full skirts are trendy. (Which does not mean you have to wear it. Don't listen to trends unless you just happen to like it, I never do!)

What are your thoughts? Are you wearing different silhouettes now, or mostly rocking originals? Which of these outfits are "work" for you, too?
